Celtic Dolphins is an ambitious, competitive swimming club based at Pontardawe Swimming Pool, located in the heart of the Swansea Valley.
It is a development club that does not 'teach' children to swim but rather identifies swimmers with potential to train and compete.
Our swimmers compete individually and as part of a team in district, regional, Welsh National and League events.
Established in 2012, with the merger of Swansea Valley and Llandarcy Swimming Clubs, Celtic Dolphins' philosophy is to promote the health, social and other benefits of swimming and to provide a pathway to develop future generations of local swimmers to progress from grass roots to performance swimming.
Being part of an established swimming club offers tremendous opportunities for children and young people to develop and improve their swimming technique as their bodies grow and mature. At the same time they will greatly improve fitness, learn to cope with competitive challenges, build confidence as well as trying to achieve their full potential as athletes.
Celtic Dolphins Swimming Club offers a fun, family friendly and social environment which combined with a robust development structure, experienced coaching team and affordable monthly rates, caters for all abilities and interests.
Through its excellent partnership with Celtic Leisure, swimmers have the opportunity to progress from structured lessons to Club Potential and onto the development and competitive squads as well as to Masters level.
As an official members of Swim Wales, Celtic Dolphins compete at various levels during which personal best times and medals are achieved as well as national rankings.
The Club is open to new members, a benefit of which includes FREE access to Celtic Leisure facilities. There is no minimal or upper age limit for joining providing that swimmers have completed Stage 6/ Wave 6 or equivalent of the Learn to Swim Programme.
